Nicole Jacques, a 27-year-old former Pennsylvania teacher has been sentenced to 11.5 to 23 months in jail for having sexual relationships with a minor.

Jacques met the 15-year-old boy when he was her student at Calvary Baptist School. She quit her job in 2011 and was engaged in a year-long relationship with him, according to Hatfield Township Police.

After the boy’s father reported her to the police in February 2012 for “excessive and inappropriate communication,” investigators discovered the pair shared 37 landline phone conversations and 1,168 text messages between January 23 2012 and February 9, 2012.Teacher_300

The boy later admitted to having sex with his former teacher on several occasions, according to PhillyBurbs.com, but said it didn’t happen until after she had quit her job.

Jacques was faced charges of 20 counts of statutory rape, 20 of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, ten counts of unlawful contact with a minor and 20 counts of a corruption of minors, reports the DailyMeal.

She has been charged by Montgomery County Judge Wendy Demchick-Alloy for corruption of minors. After her parole time, she will have to pay a $500 fine, and prohibited from having any further contact with the boy. She will also never be allowed to teach again.

“I wanted to see her punished appropriately for what she did, as well as send a message to the community in general that you can’t engage in sexual relationships with minors” said prosecutor County Assistant District Attorney Matthew Quigg. “Specifically, she engaged in sexual relations with someone who was a former student of hers.”
